TheÂ weekend of 24-26 January 2015, Auckland Anniversary weekend, sees the annual gathering of thousands of folkies at the Kumeu Showgrounds for New Zealand’s biggest folk music festival. See Auckland Folk Festival for details. This year sees The Remarkables booked as a headline act and it would be really great to see some of you there.

We’ll be on stage, Saturday 8 November 2014 at the annual Oparau Acoustic Festival. The festival is run by our old friend and sometime picking buddy *Lott* at the Oparau Domain, near Kawhia in the Waikato. Its a fun filled weekend – good concerts, lots of jamming, big bonfire and great food.
The Remarkables are appearing at the annual Whare Flat Folk Festival this summer (2013/14). Its a great festival, beautiful settings and lots of southern hospitality.
Venue: Te Puna Memorial Hall (corner SH2 and Te Puna Rd)
Time/Date: 7:30 PM 28 September. Doors are open at 7:00 PM
Admission: $15 (children no charge)
We’ll be playing in the Tauranga area on the evening of Saturday 28 September. The wonderful Marion Arts will also perform a short set at the beginning of the evening.
Half Time goodies (tea, coffee, sweet biscuits, and cheese and biscuits) are Â included in the door fee.
There will also be a cash bar (licensed), selling a nice selection of beer, wine and fruit juice.
This concert is organised by our very good friend Rosie Holmes. Even if you can’t make it on the night, please keep a watch for her future events. They are always good.
On August 10 2013, Fred Senior is hosting a “Wool-shed Concert” with The Remarkables at his property in Mercer.
The concert will start at around 4:00 PM and we’ll play a couple of sets.
After that we’ll have a shared ‘pot-luck’ dinner followed by a pickin’ session.
- Admission $10 – please bring cash – we won’t have EFTPOS
- BYOG and something for the shared dinner.
- Instruments that you want to play in the pickin’ session.
